The leaves have turned orange and the wedding season has slowed right down. We still have a few lovely weddings to share on our blog but before then we wanted to catch up on some of the exciting things we have got up to recently.
In fact it was still in summer, when we met up with our friend Anja in London. Anja is a rather talented wedding photographer from Germany, who we met in Manchester last year and stayed in touch since. Apart from hanging out and eating tasty chicken on a summer afternoon we had the pleasure of being in front of her camera for a change.

We love her images and if you want to see more you can find them on Anja’s website here. Most were taken around South Bank in London, which was bustling with people in summer. It was a great experience, because as everyone else we don’t feel comfortable in front of the camera and it’s a good reminder to know how our clients feel. Anja was fantastic though and we had great fun, we even jumped in the middle of a fountain!
At the beginning of October, and very last minute we had a fantastic opportunity to represent our friends Alex and Lisa from 2people1life at the Wedding Blog Awards at the Ritz. They didn’t have to ask us twice, when we heard there was free champagne involved and an after party! While unfortunately they didn’t win, we were very grateful that they trusted us to attend on their behalf as we had a great time with our new found wedding blogging friends. All of the photos below were taken with our phones only.
On a completely non-wedding related note, we finally managed to go on a Jack the Ripper tour in London, which we’ve been meaning to do for ages. It felt quite spooky as it got dark and the weather changed dramatically in the afternoon to add to our experience. Being a big Johnny Depp fan, we have seen the Hollywood version of the story, but it was very interesting to visit some of the old murder scenes and dark alleyways in the east London.
The next weekend we went on a road trip to Yorkshire to visit our friends Alex and Lisa as they were back from their round the world wedding adventure for a few days. There aren’t any photos as the weather was truly miserable so we didn’t venture out but it was great to catch up over a drink or three! We were invited to a pumpkin themed dinner party complete with a drinking race and personalised pre-dinner poems. Those guys really know how to do dinner parties in style. Oh and I’m sure there’s a ghost in the photo below.
Now that we have more free time, in between designing albums and preparing for 2014, we try to spend it outside and do things we enjoy. It was a lovely sunny day last Sunday, so we went to our favourite place for coffee and an autumn walk – Windsor. We love the autumn colours, but as it’s getting colder we’re starting to feel quite festive too!
